The Edgewood Fire, which forced the evacuation of thousands of residents Tuesday, is 90 percent contained, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said Thursday.

The map above shows the approximate perimeter of the wildfire, which burned about 20 acres in Edgewood Park and adjacent residential areas in and near Woodside.

The fire came within about 50 yards of structures on Rocky Way, a cul-de-sac within the Woodside town limits.

Power remained out Thursday morning for much of the Emerald Hills area, and a Pacific Gas & Electric notification to customers in the area estimated it wouldn’t be restored until Thursday evening. The outage also affected Stanford University, which has canceled its summer classes for the rest of the week. The fire burned close to the PG&E substation at the park’s southwest corner.

A smaller fire, near Colton Court (red dot on the map), was quickly extinguished Tuesday afternoon.

Edgewood Park remains closed, San Mateo County Parks said.
