Grafton Optical has announced the launch of two new ophthalmic devices, the FundusVue camera and the NFC-600 non-mydriatic retinal camera, both by global optical manufacturer, CrystalVue. The NFC-600 non-mydriatic retinal camera’s key features include high quality retinal images, portability, and connectivity. With 12 million pixels, the device generates high-quality retinal images, which Grafton Optical suggests is ideal for remote screening and telehealth. It also provides enhanced portability, made possible through its compact design with a detachable head and body, making it easy to move from one place to another. It can also be connected to a Windows-based PC or laptop via a USB connection. The FundusVue non-mydriatic fundus camera is designed to aid practitioners in the diagnosis of retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and glaucoma. At present the FundusVue is not on the list of approved devices for the NHS National Diabetic Eye Screening Programme. Key features of the device include high-definition images, ease of use, portability, and imaging software, the company outlined. The FundusVue provides vivid colours alongside high-definition retinal images to aid in diagnosis. As the device weighs only 2Kg, the company suggests it saves on set-up space. Internal fixation lights and self-guided software assist eye care practitioners in capturing images, meaning less time is spent on control settings and configurations. Imaging software enables users to save, share, or archive images.
